More and more each of my children are experiencing and developing individual areas of independence.
Kyleigh, for instance, is interested in dressing up like Mommy and Daddy as well as preferring to do as many things by herself as possible. The latter has always been a part of her personality, and now she's got the 2 yr old capabilities to back up her life-long inclination toward the
DIY (do it yourself) philosophy!
Here's a photo log of her getting her own milk refill today
(Mommy's only tasks= opening fridge door & pouring milk):

With cup empty, Kyleigh signed a request for "milk"...

Then she attempted to open the fridge, which I helped with...

Kyleigh retrieved the mik carton...

Notice the cup tucked into her arm--she never let it go!...

Handing Mommy the cup to fill...

One of the few ways I can help is pouring milk (well, "Silk")...

Returning the carton to KyKy...

She put it away so nicely!...

Then closed the door...

Kyleigh signed + gave a hearty verbal "pleeease?" for her cup...

Yaay, more milk!

Mmmmmm, yummy!

Josiah does not yet sit up on his own for more than seconds, but he's rolling all around the house to get from one place/object to another. I predict crawling in his
not-so-distant future!

What's amazing is your ability to take clear/great pictures while you are opening refrigerators, pouring milk, & likely with a baby on your hip to boot :0) Cute pics!
Crystal
Crystal,
Well, it's an on-going thing for KyKy to "take care of herself" at home, so I know her routine and thought it would be fun to capture step by step for others to see her independence in action! And nope, no baby on the hip during today's pics...Josiah's been all over the place! Did you see the pics of him playing? He's like a wild little man rolling around on the carpet!
