Mixed Emotions

On one hand, today has been a tough day for the k
ids and for Chris & me as my hubby prepared to return to Clarksville this morning. It actually took him until the early afternoon to depart! Knowing that he was leaving, we let our emotions get the best of our attitudes, and Chris and I were kinda fussy with each other (but no worries, we both apologized for having the "grumpies" & we kissed and made up!).

Josiah acted cuddly and needy---but honestly, that's just typical JoJo! And poor Kyleigh, a true 'Daddy's Girl', cried and cried....and ran away with her father's car keys! Chris had some comforting to do before he could
leave. *Sigh*

On the other hand, Josiah's walking more and more, and I finally captured a little a bit on video. He's been practicing his walking skills since his first steps on 5/21, which was about 2 weeks ago. But the thing is, before today he'd stop walking if he caught us filming or even just watching him w/out the camera. It's as though he thought he was keeping a secret from us! Haha! But today he let me capture a couple short clips before bedtime. Yay! He really, truly, honestly can walk further and steadier than what these recordings portray--I think he just gets stage fright or something, but at least he let me film him! Seriously, earlier he just took off in a way that made me consider asking my hubby for some running shoes as my bday gift this summer! Anyway, he's doing pretty well, and we're proud of our boy.

(Please don't mind the whining too much, he was exhausted!)

That picture of Kyleigh with the car keys is so sad! Glad to know though that her daddy is not going to be away for too long!

It is so hard on kids when Daddy has to leave. I face this almost every day and it just kills me. They get to a certian age and they figure out that Daddy has to get overtime and sometimes not come home for two days. But when they are young, it just doesn't click. It breaks my heart. I have to tell them we have to share daddy with people who are hurting. Sometimes that makes them feel better.

That picture of you husband kissing Josiah is just precious. I feel for you. We have to go through this so often and it's just hard. Glad it isn't going to be for long for you guys.
