Just six months after becoming parents for the first time, Chris's career and work hours took an adventurous turn. For exactly 3 years now, Chris has been working either one job requiring 60-80 hrs/wk of his time, or two jobs which combined required the same amount from him. That's a lot when you have a young family.
Hubby's dedication to these grueling requirements has allowed me to stay home each day raising our children as both our hearts desire. I'm thankful for my hard-working husband and the sacrifices he's made. Just want to be clear...I've always appreciated my guy--I've just hated his work schedule! LOL
Today, though, is the end of an era. And I'm actually NOT sad about it AT ALL! Today is my guy's final day of working a second job, and from now on he'll be focused on his banking career in a Mon-Fri 40 hr work week! He gave his notice over three wks ago, but did agree to stay on as a "seasonal employee", meaning he can go back and work around the holidays if he chose to w/out having to do the whole interviewing process and such. We both pretty much think he's done there, but it's always good to maintain business relationships and keep your options open, 'cuz ya just never know what's ahead, right?!
First order of business as a family w/ a "regular" schedule:
Josiah's Birthday!
Josiah turns 2 yrs old tomorrow, and while we already had his party at the zoo last weekend, we'll certainly celebrate as a family at home! And what better way to celebrate than knowing Daddy will be home with us at dinner time!
If the weather holds up, we're hoping Saturday will be a fun outdoor activity day w/ some kiddie pools and water toys and bratwurst on the grill--oh, and friends joining us! We have not used our grill in 2 summers. Seriously. That's how whack life has been! I'm looking forward to a really great family and friend time, a fabulous kickoff to Summer 2010!
